Ideation:

Collecting references, research, and maquette creation.

This project started with maquette creation based on accurate eye measurements.

These measurements were used to create an initial sketch that could be translated into Illustrator.

The Illustrator file was then moved into Cinema4D, and expanded using the Lathe tool.

This maquette was refined, and the optic nerve was added.

Drafting:

Creating initial sketches and iterating with feedback.

Each round of drafts increased in detail, complexity, and accuracy until they were signed off by my supervisor.

Rendering:

Developing a tonal base, adding color, & finalizing details.

I created selections in Illustrator to help with layer management.

Then, I utilized the Grisaille technique to develop the texture and value information.

Lastly, I colorized the illustration, and added finishing details.

Layout:

Composing the final layout, and adding labels.
